International Students Admission
Ursinus is a private, residential, highly selective, liberal arts college. Our students are academically motivated and come from the top quarter of their schools.
International students whose native language is not English are required to submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Test System (IELTS). Ursinus requires a minimum TOEFL score of 80 on the internet-based test (equivalent to scores of 550 on the paper-based test and 213 on the computer-based test) or a minimum IELTS score of 6. Completing the SAT Reasoning Test is also highly desirable for these students.
International students are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year until the incoming class is full. Most students apply between September and March for the fall semester, which begins at the end of August. A limited number of students are accepted for the spring semester, which begins in mid-January.
Costs and financial aid
For the 2011-2012 academic year, tuition, room, and board total $52,120. Ursinus offers limited academic merit awards to international students; need-based aid is not available for students who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. No full scholarships are available. In order for a Form I-20 to be issued (to secure an F-1 visa), financial documentation that supports what is listed on the International Student Financial Statement is required by United States law.
