Social Justice Studies at Ursinus College. She also has minors in Education,
Sociology and Gender & Women’s Studies. During her junior year, she studied
abroad in London with the CAPA program and was engaged in a service-learning
experience, where she volunteered at a local non-profit known as Castlehaven
Community Association. In addition to her service-learning placement, Caroline also
played lacrosse in London for the Imperial College Women’s Lacrosse Club. As a
women’s lacrosse player at Ursinus, she was able to build upon her lacrosse
skills and play the game she loves abroad. Why do you recommend studying abroad to other students?
Studying abroad gives students the ability to not only learn more about
themselves, but it also enables them to understand and observe other cultures,
and get involved in activities they would never have had the opportunity to
partake in otherwise. It enables you to discover yourself and your passions and
forces you to truly question what you value and what is important in your life.
In all honesty, I learned more about myself in four months than I could have
ever imagined. More importantly, I realized that it’s not where you study
abroad that matters, but what you do while you are there. _________________________________________________________________________________________
