How to Choose a Program
Search for a program
You need to find a program that matches your academic needs and your personal objectives. Selecting a Study Abroad program can be difficult since there is a wide variety of programs from which to choose. There are many factors that you should consider: destination, field of study, program length, program term, course offerings, language of instruction, etc. When you are searching for a program, try to answer the following questions in order to determine which one is right for you:
- Where do I want to study abroad?
- When do I want to study abroad?
- How long do I want to study abroad?
- What do I want to study abroad?
- What are the pros and cons of faculty-led programs, non-UC programs designed for US students and non-UC programs at overseas universities?
- How much do I want to improve my foreign language skills?
- What can I learn from and contribute to an internship or community service project abroad?
- How will my grades and credits transfer and how will that affect my standing at Ursinus?
- How much is the cost-of-living where I want to study and what are my financial resources?
- What will I learn by living on campus in a dorm, with a host family or in a student apartment?
